Student Programs & Activities

Student Outreach Education Program

The National Oregon/California Trail Center offers special tours for school groups and annually brings in hundreds of students from Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. It is a great way for school-age children to "experience" a pioneer adventure in an in-door and controlled setting.   The NOCTC highly values its educational component. School, community or historical groups that would be interested in a private educational tour of our facilities, please contact us.

  • Student Outreach Meals - Special lunches can be ordered ahead of the classroom arrival date by contacting the Oregon Trail Center in advance.
  • Teacher's Manual - Download this Adobe Acrobat file to use with elementary school classrooms, Scouting and children's groups to help understand the Oregon/California Trail, the National Oregon/California Trail Center and the Bear Lake valley. Contains history, interesting facts and crossword and word search puzzles.

Volunteer Program

The Trail Center offers special service opportunities for volunteers interested in participating in programs designed to preserve, perpetuate and promote the history and heritage of the Oregon/California Trail and the settlement of the Bear Lake Valley. Volunteers are required to provide a specific number of service hours within the Center each week.
